Works by Paz Barreiro
The painter Paz Barreiro studied Publicity Art at the Arts and Crafts School in Madrid, while she was taking drawing and painting classes at the Peña Academy. Later, she graduated in Fine Arts at the Complutense University. Paz Barreiro’s work is clearly inspired by the magazines of female fashion of the 50’s. The cutting-off dresses dolls and, in general, fashion, are the basis of her inspiration. Something not strange at all, since her family ran some sewing factories. It is also remarkable the importance of the sensory perception, its aesthetic enjoy, and the usefulness of beauty that can even host the summit of colour, visual textures. Throughout her career, she has made numerous solo and collective exhibitions, as well as being selected in different art contests.
