Joaquín Capa

Santander 1941

The artist from Santander Joaquín Capa studied at the Superior School of Fine Arts of San Fernando of Madrid, in addition to studies of Philosophy in Rome and Madrid, Architecture in Madrid and Sociology of Art in Paris. From his beginnings, this artist opted for abstraction. Throughout his career, in his pictorial practice one can observe the absence of concrete references or directly identifiable signs, and yet he has been able to create a recognisable universe in his work, through elements such as matter and colour. His work can be found in numerous museums and art collections.
