Works by Badri Lomsianidze
Kutaísi, República de Georgia. 1961
Badri Lomsianidze, born in the Republic of Georgia, lives and works nowadays in Madrid. He studied at the Fine Arts School of Kutaisi in Georgia, and, later, in the Fine Arts Superior School LVXPV of V.I. Mujina, in Saint Petersburg, Russia, where he specialised in the textile design field. The work of this multidisciplinary artist is characterised by a delicate balance between expressionism and the pureness of classic forms. The Renaissance profile of a woman face or the representation of a traditional still life share the impulsive and energetic brush stroke that characterises his whole production. Badri Lomsianidze has made exhibitions at the Art Museum of Kutaísi, the International Academy of Art “Esect”, in Paris, or the Photography Biennial of Lisbon, among others. Many collections hold his artworks, like the Modern Art Museum of Oklahoma, the Engraving National Museum of Buenos Aires or the Council Contemporary Art Museum of Madrid.
