Javier Barco

Madrid 1969

Javier Barco, studied art at the AEPE, the AEDA and the El Taller del Prado academy in Madrid and also took specific courses on Natural Landscape. His work, of extensive landscape iconography and awarded on numerous occasions, speaks for itself about light in nature, the selective gaze of the artist and the importance of expression in the interpretation of the landscape. Javier Barco's painting captures spaces, frozen moments that make time stop in its contemplation to melt into a place. Rocks, clouds, sun, everything revolves around, earth and sky flow in the most elegant way; the natural order begins to outpace the "established" order. Clean brushstroke paintings, subtle, enveloping and at the same time impressive in its simplicity. His work can be found in different collections such as that of the Spanish Ministry of the Environment, CEPSA, La Caixa and the Rafael Botí Museum, among others. In addition, the artist has exhibited his work in various institutions, fairs, and has received awards of great importance such as the First Prize for Painting Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.
