Works by Francis Bacon
The Irish-origin painter Francis Bacon is an outstanding author of the so-called Neo-Figurative Art. All the pictorial career of Bacon characterises by a deep independence, what makes out of his painting an unmistakable reference to European art in the second half of the 20th century. Furthermore, Bacon influenced to a large extent the artists of the British Pop Movement. The way this painter represents the human body is based on the trauma caused by war and the psychological consequences of it, besides his own inner view. His works are spread out in many well-known museums, galleries and collections.
