Works by Luis Gordillo
Although he began studying law, Luis Gordillo started his artistic education at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Seville. He is one of the main figures of abstract art in Spain. His work deals with different lines of research, among which informalism stands out. He has also been considered one of the Spanish artists who best interpreted Pop art in the sixties. In his work, we can see, on the one hand, how he has explored the importance of the series and the repetition as a compositional tool, and on the other hand, the interest he had in the meanings and the connection between the world of thought, of the experience and of the aesthetic expression. His works can be seen in the main museums of contemporary art in North America and Europe.
