Manuel Hernández Mompó began his studies at an early age at the School of Arts and Crafts in Valencia, and continued at the Spanish Academy of Fine Arts in Rome and the Netherlands. His work, based on the interpretation of landscapes and urban themes, gets increasingly larger freedom influenced by abstract currents and Informalism. He was one of the most outstanding figures of the Spanish abstract generation of the fifties. He has participated in different fairs and contests, together with the organisation of different individual and collective exhibitions at a national and international level.
